The past few days on the QFG tour have been a blur of hard drugs and harder rock…..
Jokes though…
I think tour blog numero uno left us off in Easton Maryland at The Night Cat. Which was a total blast. Our entourage was mightier then (Chris Kuffner, Elliot Jacobson, Lauren Zettler, and Lauren Glucksman) Now it’s just the three of us and we’re still having a total blasty blast.
We stayed the night somewhere near Easton in a stinky hotel where we ate something unspeakable….taco bell…so ashamed. We drove to Philly the next morning and had a lot of time to kill so we decided to visit this vintage guitar shop. It ended up being a this really incredible old house with no sign in the middle of center city Philadelphia with all kinds of vintage instruments dating back from the 1800’s. Bess actually fell deeply, madly in love with and purchased this amazing Gibson LG 1 from 1965. It sounded beautiful and fit her perfectly. I’m not sure I can accurately describe how incredible this place was. You just have to see it to appreciate it.
We got to The Tin Angel and Antigone Rising was playing the early show before us. I didn’t even realize at the time but I have known Nini the lead singer for years. She used to be a bartender at The Bitter End in NYC where I used to play when I was a tiny baby. We got to hang out with them a bit and they are all warm and wonderful people and everyone should definitely check out their music. Nini and Kristen actually told me they had been following my music for awhile and donated to my Kickstarter which was so flattering to hear.
Real talk though Philadelphia was so much fun. The crowd was amazing and I think it was one of our favorite shows we’ve ever played. We knighted this really sweet adorable guy named Mayer (Hi Mayer if you’re reading this!!) We had so much fun meeting and talking with everyone after the show. Nights like that make you remember why you play music. If there was ever a glimmer of doubt in my mind shows like that wipes the slate clean again.
So we piled back into the van and drove back to NYC for one last night at home. We didn’t get home until about 5:30 AM and then we woke up much too early to head to Fredrick MD. Cafe Nola was cool, it was kind of a loud bar type atmosphere which was a bummer but the people who came out to see us were SO awesome. But, life has a way of balancing itself out and yesterday we played at the most amazing listening room called The Southern. Also big thanks to Brad Savage and 106.1 The Corner for having us on the radio! Today we have a day off but hopefully we will see you guys via the world wide web tonight on LiveStream 8PM EST http://www.livestream.com/qfgtour
Sincerely Searching For Glory,
Lelia
